Enter Team Member's Bio Here:
I was born and raised on North side of Chicago. My earliest boating excursions were on fishing trips with my father on the numerous lakes in Northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and into Canada. Great bonding, and great fishing. After a stint in the Army as a Nuclear Missile Technician, I headed off to Southeastern Oklahoma State University to pursue a degree in Aviation Management. That actually transitioned into a BS in Business Management. But I did manage to get my Private Pilot’s License.

After college I headed down to Dallas where I began a multi-year IT Sales career that had me working for a number of large multi-national corporations, flying all over the US, and occasionally overseas. However it was in the Dallas area where I purchased my first boat. A new ski boat that I used often on Lake Texoma, (one of the largest reservoirs in the US) A beautiful huge lake with many islands on the Oklahoma Texas border. I became an avid skier, and have some unique stories to go along with that adventure.

Eventually I moved back to my hometown of Chicago, where I met my wife. I was a Harley rider and she was a sailor at the Columbia Yacht Club. (I was leather and she looked like a poster model for GAP clothing) She was a regular crew of the Annual Chicago to Mackinac Island race in a Tartan 10, and I didn’t have a clue about sailing. But I learned, but never really got the hang of all the work involved.

In 2000 we moved to Newport Beach as her parents lived in Long Beach, and as they aged she wanted to be closer. In 2010 I started my second life as a boat salesperson with Newport Boats. After a few years of selling small boats, I joined Orange Coast Yachts who was a Dealer for Johnson, Princess, Ocean Alexander, and Horizon. Those were 5 very interesting and educational years dealing with the Big Boats. The owner retired and bought a ranch up in Idaho, so I joined Bayport Yachts.

When I joined, they were a Prestige Dealer and a Chris Craft dealer. But business circumstances changed, and 6 years later I joined Silver Seas Yachts, where the opportunities are plentiful, and the people are dedicated, professional and friendly. I’m looking forward to continuing to help people enjoy the Boating Lifestyle.

GEORGE LANG
Yacht Specialist
Enter Team Member's Bio Here:
In the 1970s, against the backdrop of San Francisco's scenic marina, I discovered a lifelong passion for the sea. Living in an apartment overlooking the marina, I found myself drawn to the elegant yachts that graced the waters below. Daily walks to the harbor became a ritual, as I gazed in awe at these majestic vessels that seemed to touch the sky. It took nearly a year of contemplation before a realization dawned upon me. As I looked down from my apartment at those magnificent yachts, a thought emerged - I should be on one of them. Without hesitation, I embarked on my maritime journey, acquiring a beautiful 1960s Richardson cruiser. This yacht would become my home in the years to come, eventually succeeded by a Gulf Star troller.

My connection with the water ran deep. From my early days of surfing at Kelly's Cove at Ocean Beach to becoming a scuba dive instructor, I immersed myself in aquatic pursuits. I pursued a career as a commercial salmon fisherman, holding California Fish and Game plate No.26675, and became a devoted follower of the legendary salmon fishing boat captain, Wacky Jackie. Residing at the Allman Brothers boatyard in Hunter's Point, I honed my skills in boat restoration, rebuilding, and maintenance. By day, I pursued a career in television news broadcasting for ABC News, achieving a significant milestone by conducting the very first television microwave live broadcast from my yacht on San Francisco Bay, as well as the first underwater live shot.

In the 1980s, I had the privilege of leading expeditions and dive operations in Guam, Bikini Atoll, and Truk Lagoon, where I uncovered lost Japanese World War II sunken fleets. My work in these expeditions was not only personally fulfilling but also professionally recognized. I was honored to receive multiple Emmy Awards for my contributions in bringing the underwater wonders of these locations to television audiences.

Following my extensive tenure with ABC, I ventured into the world of yachting once again, purchasing the first new boat offered by the then-new Silver Seas Yachts in Sausalito. Impressed by the quality and service available, I was captivated and went on to purchase a total of three yachts to date!

In retirement, I became deeply involved with Silver Seas, contributing to concierge services, assisting in deliveries, and providing quality control operational training for new boats. Over the course of 12 years, I cultivated a network of relationships within the boating community and with service vendors. Driven by a passion for yachting and a desire to share my knowledge, I dedicated myself to helping educate, empower, and introduce others to the yachting lifestyle. My journey has been one of dedication, adventure, and a deep love for the open waters, and I look forward to sharing what I've learned over the years with those of you who would love to get into this world and help you fulfill your dreams.
